Privacy Policy — Younovators

This Policy explains what data Younovators (operated by Never Mind) collects, how we use it, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the assessment and scholarship match:

Identity: name, class/user type, gender, language preference
Eligibility: social category, family annual income, state of domicile, first-generation status, disability status (only if voluntarily disclosed)
Assessment responses: answers to the psychometric questions
Consent record: guardian name and relationship
Counselor link: which counselor's code was used
Technical data: session ID, language used, timestamps

We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, biometric data, or geolocation.

2. Children's data (under 18)

For users below 18, we process data only after digital consent is provided by a parent or legal guardian. The guardian's name and relationship are recorded. We do not profile minors for advertising or any commercial use beyond delivering the assessment report.

3. How we use your data

To compute psychometric scores and stream/career fit
To match eligible government scholarships from our verified database
To generate the AI-narrated career report
To allow your counselor to view your report
To track basic outcomes (did you apply for the suggested scholarship?) — only with your consent

4. Who can see your data

You (or your guardian, for minors)
Your counselor — the counselor whose code you used
Younovators admin — for technical support and quality review
Anthropic (AI provider) — receives only your assessment scores and matched careers/doors to generate the narrative. Your full identity is not shared with the AI.

We never sell your data. We never share with advertisers or marketing companies.

5. Where your data is stored

Data is stored on encrypted servers (Supabase, Mumbai region). Backups are encrypted and rotated daily. Access to production data is restricted to a small number of authorized engineers under signed confidentiality agreements.

6. Your rights under DPDP Act 2023

You (or your guardian, for minors) have the right to:

Access your data — request a copy of everything we hold
Correct inaccurate information
Erase your data — request deletion of your profile and reports
Withdraw consent at any time
Grievance redressal — escalate concerns to our Data Protection Officer

7. Data retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymous aggregate statistics (e.g. "X students completed the test in Delhi") may be retained for research.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Updates

Material changes to this Policy will be notified via email or in-app banner. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
